There are no specific entry requirements for the Highfield Level 2 Award In Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (RQF) qualification however learners are advised to have a minimum of level 1 literacy.

There is no specific age restriction for this qualification however centres must assess the suitability of learners on completing the course and ensure they are able to effectively perform CPR prior to registration.

The Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.

In order to register on to this qualification, learners are required to meet the following entry requirements:

16 years of age or above

It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in English and maths.

The Highfield Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (RQF) qualification is aimed at individuals who are, or intend to be, food handlers working in catering. The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in catering role, or to support a role in the workplace.

The Highfield Level 2 Award in HACCP for Catering (RQF) is aimed at those working in a food catering environment and other food handlers. The qualification is intended for those already working in

catering and those who are preparing to work in the industry.

The Highfield Level 2 Award in Health and Safety within the Workplace (RQF) qualification is designed to provide learners with knowledge of the basic health and safety practices essential in the workplace.

The Highfield Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (RQF) qualification is aimed at learners who are starting or returning to work or who need specific training in manual handling. It is also suitable for refresher training.

The Highfield Level 2 Award in the Principles of Fire Safety (RQF) qualification is aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.

Learners gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of fire in any premises.

The Highfield Level 3 Award in Effective Auditing and Inspection (RQF) is aimed at supervisors, team leaders, chefs, QA staff and managers working in a variety of industries where verification, auditing (including internal auditing and supplier auditing) or inspection is undertaken. Industries may include all sectors of the food industry, consumer products, hospitals, laboratories, pharmaceuticals, warehousing and retail. The qualification is also suitable for student environmental health officers.

The Highfield Level 3 Award in Food Allergen Management in Catering (RQF) qualification is aimed at learners responsible for the purchase, delivery, production and service of food in the catering industry. It is also suitable for those owning/managing a smaller catering business.

The Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is aimed at learners who have previously gained the full qualification and are first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.

In order to register on to this qualification, learners are required to meet the following entry requirements:

This qualification is aimed at individuals working in a food manufacturing environment and those who are preparing to work in the industry.

The Highfield Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification is designed for those learners wishing to gain the knowledge and skills required to enable them to provide effective emergency paediatric first aid.

Learners will become familiar with the role of the paediatric first-aider and be able to assess and react appropriately to an emergency situation, such as a child or an infant who is unresponsive, has an airway obstruction, has breathing difficulties or is suffering from shock.

The qualification is valid for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to retake the course. In addition to this it is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.
