This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a security officer. This qualification is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications and is supported by Skills for Security, the standards setting body for the security industry and the SIA, which regulates the private security industry.

How is the Highfield - Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry course assessed?

It is divided into 3-units and is assessed through 3 multiple-choice examinations.

These units are as follows:

Unit 1: Working within the Private Security Industry

Assessed by a multiple-choice examination of 1-hour containing 40-questions. Learners must achieve a score of at least 28 out of 40 to pass this unit.

Unit 2: Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry

Assessed by a multiple-choice examination of 1-hour consisting of 40-questions. Learners must achieve a score of at least 28 out of 40 to pass this unit.

Unit 3: Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry

Assessed by a multiple-choice examination of 30-minutes consisting of 20-questions. Learners must achieve a score of at least 14 out of 20 to pass this unit
