The number of people working alone is increasing. As technology advances and budgets are cut, more and more organsations are employing lone workers As well as those who work alone for the majority of their working time, there is a greater number of people who work alone part of the time. According the the HSE Lone working staff are defined as someone who "works by themselves without close or direct supervision" and can include home visiting, travelling, working from home or working in a building or office alone. Effective Lone Worker Training is vital to reduce the risk of violence at work and to fulfil your duty of care to staff.

The course is a great way to improve manual handling awareness, especially for managers, supervisors, and employees who dont perform significant manual handling (for example office workers), and as a refresher to those who have previously received a trainer led manual handling course.
