The IPAF Mobile Elevating Work Platform Boom 3a + 3b - Operator is for those who use, supervise or manage the use of powered access, including scissor lifts, self-propelled boom lifts, trailer mounted boom lifts and aerial work platforms. Those who need to use only one category of powered access equipment should attend the Single Category course and those who need to use two categories of powered access equipment should attend the Dual Category course.

The IPAF - Harness Use and Inspection course instructs a user to select, inspect and use a harness and associated equipment safely when using a MEWP.

The IPAF - Static Boom 1b - Operator course is for those who use, supervise or manage the use of powered access, including scissor lifts, self-propelled boom lifts, trailer mounted boom lifts and aerial work platforms. Those who need to use two categories of powered access equipment should attend the Dual Category course.

The IPAF - Push Around Vertical (PAV) - Operator course is aimed at personnel who are or will be responsible for using Push Around Vertical Platform (PAVs) MEWPs in the workplace. There are no prerequisite required for this course although a working knowledge of MEWPs is an advantage

The IPAF - Mobile Vertical 3a - Operator course is for those who use, supervise or manage the use of powered access, including scissor lifts, self-propelled boom lifts, trailer mounted boom lifts and aerial work platforms. Those who need to use only one category of powered access equipment should attend a Single Category course and those who need to use two categories of powered access equipment should attend the 3a + 3b course.

The IPAF - Mobile Boom 3b - Operator course is for those who use, supervise or manage the use of powered access, including scissor lifts, self-propelled boom lifts, trailer mounted boom lifts and aerial work platforms. Those who need to use only one category of powered access equipment should attend a Single Category course and those who need to use two categories of powered access equipment should attend the 3a + 3b course.

The IPAF - Scissor Lift Mobile and Static Boom 1b+3a+3b - Operator is for personnel who will be responsible for the safe use of vertical lifts would benefit from attending the IPAF 3a Scissor Lift , 3B Mobile Boom and 1B Static Boom Operator training course

The IPAF - Competent Assessed Person (CAP) course is for platform engineers or anyone who is responsible for the safety and maintenance of powered access equipment (MEWP or MCWP) and for ensuring that examinations have been carried out.

The IPAF - MEWPs for Managers course is targeted at project managers, foremen and supervisors working in a broad range of industries such as construction, facilities management, retail, airports and arboriculture.

The IPAF - MEWPs for Demonstrators course is suitable for anyone that needs to demonstrate or handover a MEWP to a third party.

If you need to work at height and use access equipment:

IPAF believes that you should receive basic training.

In addition to your main job, e.g. electrician, painter, decorator, cleaner, you will acquire a new skill.

Platforms are designed to be easy to use and offer a safe way to work at height, but with basic training, you will use the equipment more effectively and safely.

If you are an employer:

You can be sure that legal requirements have been fulfilled if your platform operators have the PAL Card.

Most legislation, covering health and safety obligations, accident prevention and work at height regulations, require you to provide employees with proper and adequate training in the use of work equipment.

IPAF training to the highest standards means that your platform operators will also work more efficiently and productively.

In order to deliver IPAF training courses, you need to be employed by an IPAF training centre or become a registered IPAF independent instructor member.

This course trains and assesses an instructor to understand the delivery of the IPAF training programme, and assesses knowledge on machines and ability to convey information to candidates.
