What is the Qualsafe - QA Level 2 Award in Citizen AID course?

The QA Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF) is a regulated qualification designed to teach members of the public life-saving skills for use in the event of a deliberate multiple casualty incident.

Based on the citizenAID Pocket Guide and Phone App, this 3 hour qualification will teach Learners how to react safely, pass on effective messages to the emergency services, prioritise the injured and give life-saving first aid in these extreme situations.

The course covers a variety of topics, including: prioritising multiple casualties, dealing with an unresponsive casualty who is breathing, and controlling severe external bleeding.

Learners who undertake the QA Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF) must have access to either the citizenAID Phone App or Pocket Guide.

Who is the Qualsafe - QA Level 2 Award in Citizen AID course designed for?

The QA Level 2 Award in CitizenAid (RQF) qualification has been developed for all members of the public who wish to learn valuable life-saving skills and techniques for use in the event of a shooting, stabbing, bombing or other deliberate incident.

What subjects does the Qualsafe - QA Level 2 Award in Citizen AID course cover?

This qualification contains 1 unit with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 3 hours. Full details of this unit are in Appendix 1

Learners must complete all assessments in the unit successfully within the registration period (3 weeks) to achieve the qualification.

TQT is the total number of hours required for a Learner to achieve this qualification. It has 2 elements:

Guided Learning Hours (GLH) is the time a Learner is being taught and assessed under the immediate guidance of a Trainer/Assessor, which for this qualification is 3 GLH (minimum); and

The number of hours a Learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation and study, including assessment, as directed by, but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of a Trainer, e.g. pre-course reading, As pre-course study is not necessary for this qualification, the TQT time is 3 hours (minimum)

7 x Assessments, including a mixture of knowledge and practical based activities/assessments.
