Qualsafe Awards is one of the largest Ofqual recognised Awarding Organisations in the UK and has been shortlisted for the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) Awarding Organisation of the Year Award in both 2015 & 2016.

QA - Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid

Ideal for:

Streamlined perfectly to avoid the duplication of topics associated with attending both the First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid courses separately, the Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid course has been specifically designed for those who work in settings that require both First Aiders and Paediatric First Aiders, such as schools, sports clubs or other childcare settings.

Please note, Learners who wish to undertake the Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid course must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training.

QA - First Aid at Work Annual Refresher (QAR)

Ideal for:

The First Aid at Work Annual Refresher (QAR) qualification is specifically designed to allow qualified first aiders to update their first aid skills yearly, until requalification training is required.

QA - Forestry First Aid +F (QAR)

Ideal for:

The Forestry First Aid +F (QAR) qualification is ideal for those that work or intend to work in a forestry, agricultural or remote environment, such as tree surgeons and farmers.

Learners must:

  • Be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training
  • Hold or be working towards either a regulated first aid qualification (minimum 1 day course), prior to certification

There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.

Other course requirements:

Due to the practical nature of this course, Learners should wear appropriate clothing and footwear, e.g. trousers and flat footwear.

QA - Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (RQF) qualification has been specifically designed for those who have a responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide first aid when dealing with an emergency situation whilst undertaking activities, such as sports, swimming, hiking, rock climbing etc.

QA - Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic life support and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency.

QA - Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide BLS when dealing with an emergency situation which may involve using an AED.

QA - Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide basic life support for adults and children. It is also ideal for those who are qualified in providing first aid and are looking to refresh or develop their existing first aid knowledge and skills further.

QA - Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide first aid and/or use an AED in an emergency.

QA - Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in CitizenAid (RQF) qualification has been developed for all members of the public who wish to learn valuable life-saving skills and techniques for use in the event of a shooting, stabbing, bombing or other deliberate incident.

QA - Level 2 Award in Fire Safety

Ideal for:

This qualification is for anyone who has a specific responsibility for fire safety in the workplace. It is suitable to:

  • Qualify fire wardens/fire marshals
  • Provide a foundation of fire safety knowledge on which employers and responsible persons can build
  • Increase the fire safety knowledge of all employees

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in First Aid Essentials (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic first aid to people they are caring for when dealing with an emergency.

QA - Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those working, or planning to work, in the food catering industry. It is also ideal for those who come into contact with food handling areas due to the nature of their work, such as pest control officers and delivery personnel.

QA - Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) qualification is ideal for all employees to raise their awareness of health and safety in the workplace.

QA - Level 2 Award in Principles of COSHH

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Principles of COSHH (RQF) is ideal for all employees, and specifically those who wish to work in an environment with hazardous substances, such as: healthcare, manufacturing, cleaning, transport, utilities and office environments.

QA - Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling (RQF) qualification has been specifically designed for all employees to help raise their awareness of the risks associated with unsafe manual handling practices. It is also ideal for those who might have to carry out manual handling as part of their job such as handling deliveries, parcels and boxes

The QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment (RQF) is ideal for anyone in a work environment

QA - Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling

Ideal for:

The QA Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who work, or intend to work, in a role that involves manual handling. It is ideal for those working in a variety of environments including warehouses and shops.

QA - Level 3 Award in Administering Emergency Oxygen (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Award in Administering Emergency Oxygen (RQF) has been specifically designed for those who have a responsibility for the treatment and/or management of casualties who need administration of emergency medical oxygen.This qualification is suitable for first aiders operating in a high risk environment, community first responders, cabin/film crew, fire, police and other emergency services personnel.

While achievement of this qualification confirms Learners have met both the theoretical and practical requirements, this does not imply a license to practice - the scope of practice will be determined by the organisation responsible for oxygen provision. This qualification does not allow a Learner to obtain, store or administer oxygen without clinical governance.

QA - Level 3 Award in Education and Training

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF)qualification has been specifically designed to be an introduction to teaching for those who work or would like to work in the further education and skills sector for, e.g. Further Education (FE) Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities.

Learners might include:

  • Individuals not currently teaching or training - achievement of the qualification does not require practice other than microteaching.
  • Individuals currently teaching and training, including those new to the profession although the
    qualification does not require practice (see explanation above), opportunities may be made available to observe and provide feedback on a Learners practice
  • Individuals currently working as Assessors who want to achieve a qualification that provides an
    introduction to teaching

QA - Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

QA - Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification has been designed in-line with the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is ideal for:

  • Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements.
  • Anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

Newly qualified entrants to an early years setting who have completed a level 2 and/or level 3 qualification on or after 30th June 2016, must also have either a full paediatric first aid or an emergency paediatric first aid certificate within three months of starting work.

QA - Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities.

Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training.

There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.

QA - Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Re-qualification

Ideal for:
This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. The Learner needs to retake the qualification before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.

QA - Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework and is ideal for:

  • Those who have gained a level 2 and/or level 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with EYFS requirements.
  • Registered childminders and assistants who are required to hold a current and full paediatric first aid certificate in order to comply with the EYFS requirements.
  • Anyone who has a non-professional involvement with infants and children, such as parents, grandparents and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

Newly qualified entrants to an early years setting who have completed a level 2 and/or level 3 qualification on or after 30th June 2016, must also have either a full paediatric first aid or an emergency paediatric first aid certificate within three months of starting work.

QA - Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment (RQF) is ideal for those who have a responsibility for conducting risk assessments in low risk environments, such as supervisors and site managers. This qualification is also suitable for those who significantly contribute to the risk assessment process, e.g. team leaders and technicians

QA - Level 3 Award in the Safe Administration of Lifesaving Medication (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Award in the Safe Administration of Lifesaving Medication (RQF) is intended for those who are employed by a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered organisation that have a specific responsibility at work to be able to safely administer and monitor the effects of medication within their scope of practice.

Learners who wish to undertake the QA Level 3 Award in the Safe Administration of Lifesaving Medication (RQF) must be employed by a CQC registered organisation and have successfully completed the QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) or a QA recognised equivalent qualification.

QA - Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification specifically designed for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance service, the event and security medical sector or those who work in high risk workplaces.

QA - Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) - Requalification

Ideal for:

The QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification specifically designed for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance service, the event and security medical sector or those who work in high risk workplaces.

The requalification is a 3 day course to refresh your skills and revalidate the original qualification.

It is also used for people who have previous experience and qualifications to convert over to the FREC suite with Recognised Prior Learning (RPL). You should hold an in date FPOSi or equivalent.

QA - Level 4 Award in Immediate Life Support (RQF)

Ideal for:

The QA Level 4 Award in Immediate Life Support (RQF) is ideal for those who have a responsibility at work, or in community or voluntary activities to provide emergency care to patients, such as event medical providers, emergency ambulance personnel, registered healthcare professionals and those working in specialist roles within the emergency services and military.
