The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace and is intended for learners already working as supervisors, managers, team leaders or those who are preparing to start work at this level, and gives them knowledge of health and safety.
The qualification provides learners with an understanding of: the requirements of health, safety and welfare - the benefits of a health and safety management system - the risks and control measures for common workplace hazards - how to manage the effects of incidents and accidents - and the principles of risk assessment.
This qualification has a total qualification time of 30hours and guided learning of 21 hours.
The course is aimed at supervisors, managers, team leaders as well as individuals wishing to advance their health and safety knowledge. The qualification is intended for learners already working in the capacity of supervisor, manager or team leader and also those who are preparing to start work at this level.
To register for this qualification, learners are required to be 16 years of age or above.

This qualification is assessed by a multiple-choice question examination containing 60 questions that must be completed within 120 minutes.
