What is the DVSA - Module 4-CPC Vehicle Banksman and Manual Handling course?

The first part of this course aims to ensure anyone who gives or receives signals to aid in the safe manoeuvring of vehicles fully understands industry-recognised and approved methods for doing so.

The second part of looks at aiming to reduce the overall number of accidents and injuries caused by improper manual handling each year, this course increases awareness around hazards and provides key information, advice and techniques for safe manual handing conduct.

Upon completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

Understand the role and responsibilities of a vehicle banksman.

Safely communicate using industry recognised signals.

Will be aware of, and understand, manual handling risk assessments that apply to their work and assess how to avoid hazardous manual handling techniques in the workplace.

Will be able to demonstrate and apply good manual handling technique in the workplace.

Who is the DVSA - Module 4-CPC Vehicle Banksman and Manual Handling course designed for?

This periodic training is aimed at all existing bus, coach and lorry drivers, who have acquired a licence and have to undertake 35 hours of training every 5 years to ensure their Driver CPC is current and they hold a Drivers Qualification Card (DQC).
