Discuss and understand applicable health & safety legislation for carrying out vehicle marshalling, i.e. The health & safety (safety signs & signals) regulations.

Generate an understanding of ‘Section 7’ of the HSAWA (1974) in relation to the safety of themselves and others / co-workers.

Outline the requirements for conducting risk assessments on site with the ability to perform dynamic risk assessments whilst a vehicle is moving within its associated environment.

Introduce and generate an understanding of the importance of giving clear instructions and communication to the driver of a vehicle when carrying out marshalling duties on site.

Demonstrate effective communication with other workers on site emphasising the main dangers from vehicle movement.

Develop the ability to control moving vehicles on & off-site, focusing on the level of consciousness required at all times to maintain site safety.

How is the Unaccredited - Traffic Banksman-Vehicle Marshalling course assessed?

A written test consisting of 20 questions followed by a practical assessment to demonstrate the marshalling skills that have been learnt and retained
