This qualification is designed for those learners wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a CCTV Operator in Public Space Surveillance. This qualification is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications and is supported by Skills for Security, the standards setting body for the security industry and the SIA, which regulates the private security industry.

How is the Highfield - Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator Public Space Surveillance within the Private Security Industry course assessed?
It is divided into 3-units and is assessed through two multiple-choice examinations and a practical test. These units are as follows:
Unit 1: Working within the Private Security Industry
Assessed by a 1-hour, 40-question, multiple-choice examination. Learners must achieve a score of at least 28 out of 40 to pass this unit.
Unit 2: Working as a CCTV Operator within the Private Security Industry
Assessed by a 1-hour, 40-question, multiple-choice examination. Learners must achieve a score of at least 28 out of 40 to pass this unit.
Unit 3: Practical use of a CCTV System
Assessed by an externally set and internally assessed practical assessment. Learners must achieve a 100% pass mark.
