Not only does this course deal with the use of an AED but it also includes vital training in resuscitation and choking procedures.
The qualification is valid for 3 years and all learners will be assessed for their practical skills as well as their knowledge in the form of a multiple choice question paper.

Maintenance of an AED
Safe use of an AED
The learner must satisfactorily complete each scenario to successfully pass the practical assessment.
Written assessment
The learner will complete a written assessment paper containing 12 multiple choice questions needing to achieve a minimum of 9 out of 12 to pass. The duration of the assessment is 30 minutes. An example question is - When should you connect the AED to your non-breathing casualty?
Trainer/Assessors may also ask a learner additional questions if felt necessary to confirm their knowledge and understanding.
