This qualification is the benchmark qualification for all electricians who are seeking to gain more of an insight into this important standard.
Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671: 2018 (2382-18) Update is widely recognised throughout the electrical industry as the must have qualification, as a requirement to show that an individual has a thorough understanding of how to navigate BS 7671.
If you are involved in domestic, commercial or industrial electrical installations, this qualification is widely regarded as the mandatory requirement for anyone involved in the electrical installation industry or is likely to be supervising those that are carrying out electrical installations.
Any person who needs to prove that they have the necessary underpinning knowledge of the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations in the electrical industry, will be required to show evidence by way of having a thorough understanding and an awareness of all the requirements of the Wiring Regulations, and that is achieved by holding the City and Guilds 2382-18 certificate
To be accepted onto attendance of this course, candidates MUST provide verifiable evidence of having achieved City & Guilds 2382-15 (or equivalent qualification relating to BS 7671: 2015 - including Amendment 3) before the course; this may be by providing the certificate, or enrolment number if undertaken previously with us
As this is an update course, the content will be limited to discussions of the main additions
and alterations of BS 7671.
It will be expected that candidates attending this course still retain the understanding and awareness of the navigation of BS 7671 from previous training and regular usage and reference. During the sessions, we look through the main elements of new content of the regulations, including additions and alterations to the following content of BS 7671:
Part 1: Scope, object and fundamental principles
Part 2: Definitions
Part 3: Assessment of general characteristics
Part 4: Protection for safety
Part 5: Selection and erection of equipment
Part 6: Inspection and testing
Part 7: Special installations or locations
The Appendices
On completion of this course, all candidates are assessed via an examination consisting of 60 multiple-choice questions.
This is an open book examination, with reference to BS 7671, and is carried out using the City and Guilds e-volve system.
All candidates are given their results at the end of the examination
