The following alternative courses are also available:-
ALLMI - Operator course
The ALLMI Operator course consists of 15 modules and is either one or two days in duration (depending on whether the candidate is a novice or experienced operator). Both the one and two day courses culminate in a written and practical examination. ALLMI is notified (by the instructor) of all courses in advance of the training taking place (via ALLMI's online registration system), so that unannounced instructor audits can be carried out.

Upon successful completion of the course, every candidate will receive an identity card and certificate, and will be registered on the ALLMI Operator database. The certificate and identity card are valid for five years, after which time refresher training and assessments will need to be undertaken. Both the identity card and certificate state the categories for which the operator is licensed. Candidates also receive the ALLMI Operators manual, which is used as a reference guide throughout their career.

The strength of ALLMI training comes from the technical and training knowledge on its Training Standards Committee. The Committee is made up of training and technical professionals from all the major loader crane manufacturers and importers within the UK. In addition, the Health and Safety Executive is represented. The Committee develops, consults upon and maintains all the training standards set by ALLMI.

ALLMI Operator training is the UKs only lorry loader training programme to be commended by the Health & Safety Executive. The programme is also recognised by Build UK and approved by CSCS.

How is it assessed? The assessment process is set by ALLMI and administered by the instructor. It consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical. The theoretical assessments consist of a set of core multiple choice and open questions, as well as questions which relate specifically to the crane attachment being used. The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to operate a lorry loader safely and efficiently.
