CITB is the Industry Training Board for the construction industry and a partner in Construction Skills, the Sector Skills Council, devoted to building competitive advantage for the construction industry and the people who work in it.

Beginners Level Construction Industry Training Board - (CITB) Qualifications.

CITB - Health and Safety Awareness.

Ideal for:

The CITB Health and Safety Awareness course introductory course is for people who are new to the construction and civil engineering industries. It is the first step towards obtaining a CSCS Green Card alongside the CITB Operatives touchscreen test.

It teaches you the main health and safety issues on construction sites and how these affect your role.

It is also recommended as a Health and Safety refresher of knowledge after five years.

It is recommended that you sit this course BEFORE attempting the Touch Screen Test

CITB - Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme.

Ideal for:

The CITB Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme one-day Site Safety Plus course is suitable for staff with management or supervisory responsibilities.

This course meets the basic environmental knowledge that the sub-contract chain is required to prove to major contractors. It also covers the environmental aspects of the CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test.

CITB - Site Safety for Shopfitters and Interior Contractors.

Ideal for:

The CITB Site Safety for Shopfitters and Interior Contractors qualification course is for first line managers, supervisors, foremen and those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities within the shop fitting and interior contracting industry.

The course covers all relevant legislation and other issues that affect safe working in the shop fitting and interior contracting industry. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and communication of health and safety, welfare and environmental issues.

The course will also help site managers, supervisors, and foremen to develop a better understanding of the legal, moral and social responsibilities of their role and to supervise health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions.

CITB - Site Safety for Shopfitters and Interior Contractors Refresher.

Ideal for:

The CITB Site Safety for Shopfitters and Interior Contractors Refresher course is for delegates who have previously passed the full Site Safety for Shopfitters and Interior Contractors (SSSIC) course and can provide proof of attendance. It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up to date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace.

The course includes a wide range of topics, many building on the previous full course programme as well as introducing new subjects

CITB - Tunnelling Safety Training Scheme.

Ideal for:

The CITB - Tunnelling Safety Training Scheme course is the new industry agreed solution for anyone working in a tunnel under construction.

This one-day program is designed to help those wishing to improve their knowledge of the safety requirements when working in the tunnelling industry.

It replaces the existing three tunnelling options:

Tunnel Safety Card (TSC)

Underground Safety Passport (USP)

CITB - Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course.

Ideal for:

The Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course (TWSTC) is designed to assist Managers, Supervisors, Agents and Personnel on site who have responsibility for supervising all forms of temporary works.

CITB - CSCS - Touch Screen Test.

Ideal for:

This test is for the Labourers GREEN card and it is strongly recommended that you sit the CITB - Health and Safety Awareness course before attempting this test.

CITB - Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme.

Ideal for:

This two-day CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme course is for site supervisors.

You will learn about your legal responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.

The certificate you gain is valid for 5 years.

BUILDUK recognises this course as meeting the required standard for all supervisors working on BUILDUK sites.

CITB - Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Refresher.

Ideal for:

This is a one-day refresher of our full Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course.

Taking this course renews your SSSTS certificate. It updates your knowledge of your responsibilities for site safety, health, welfare and the environment.

You must complete this refresher before your certificate expires or you will need to re-take the full course.

CITB - Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course.

Ideal for:

The CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course course is for those on site with responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works.

It is designed to give confidence to senior management and those who engage with contractors.

The course will provide candidates with a thorough knowledge of the role of a temporary works coordinator

CITB - Temporary Works General Awareness Training Course.

Ideal for:

This one-day CITB Temporary Works General Awareness Training Course gives you a broad understanding of temporary works and industry best practice, including good safety risk management.

People who are not likely to undertake the role of Temporary Works Coordinator or Temporary Works Supervisor in the future, but who may be involved in the temporary works process during construction planning

Ideal for:

The CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme course is for project managers, site managers and supervisors, business owners and clients. 

You will gain an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues on construction sites.

The certificate is valid for 5 years. You will need to take the SMSTS refresher course before your certificate expires.

CITB - Site Management Safety Training Scheme Refresher.
