ITSSAR - B1-Rider Counterbalance Forklift Truck including 5 tonne

This ITSSAR Counter balance Forklift Truck Training Course is for any candidates who want to be able to:-

  • Drive and operate the lift truck safely and efficiently
  • Stack and de-stack at various levels in a safe and competent manner
  • Carry out pre-use checks to ensure the equipment is in a safe condition
  • Carry out battery maintenance and charging procedures
  • Load and unload vehicles

This ITSSAR accredited training provides delegates with an understanding of their responsibilities as a forklift truck operator under the Health and Safety at Work Act. Training will ensure that delegates are equipped with the skills to manoeuvre the trucks in a range of environments and maintain stability whilst handling different loads. Delegates will also gain a knowledge of truck maintenance and the process of completing pre and post use checks. Our courses can be tailored to suit you as we have beginner and experienced levels, with refreshers also available.

On completion of the Counter balance Forklift Truck Training Course candidates will have a theoretical understanding of the following:-

  • Responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 PUWER 98 & LOLER 98
  • Operators safety code
  • Battery maintenance and charging procedures
  • Pre-use checks
  • Factors affecting stability
  • Stacking and de-stacking in open and confined areas
  • Lorry loading and unloading
How is it assessed?

The course is delivered between 1 and 5 days and an ITSSAR accredited certificate will be issued upon completion.

Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn in both theoretical and practical training along with interaction in group activities.

Delegates should inform their trainer if they have any health concerns, physical ailments or if special consideration should be taken.

NPORS - Industrial Counterbalanced Lift Truck Refresher

Any experienced Fork Lift Counterbalance Operators who would like to renew their certification.

Candidates must have a current Fork Lift Counterbalance certificate and be able to provide proof of this prior to course commencement. 

All candidates should be reasonably fit, both physically and mentally, have the learning ability and potential to become competent operators and be over the minimum age of 16 (except in ports, where they must be at least 18 years old, unless they are undergoing a suitable course of training and are properly supervised by a competent person). Children under 16 should never operate lift trucks. Candidates selected for this course should be reliable and have a responsible attitude towards the workplace.

NPORS - Lorry Loader-N107

This Lorry Loader training course is designed for Plant Operators who require practical and theory training and / or assessment on a Lorry Loader.

The NPORS N107 course aims to provide the candidate with a thorough practical and theory training in operating a Lorry Loader in order to to enable the candidate to pass the NPORS Theory and Practical Tests.

How is it assessed?

To achieve the NPORS Operators Card candidates must pass both the NPORS Theory and Practical Test.

NPORS - Telescopic Handler - N011

The NPORS N011 course aims to provide the candidate with a thorough practical and theory training in operating a Telescopic Handler in order to enable the candidate to pass the NPORS Theory and Practical Tests.

The aim of training candidates on N011 – Industrial Telescopic Handler is to provide them with basic knowledge and practical skills to NPORS high standard.  (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme)

How is it assessed?

To achieve the Red NPORS Trained Operator Card candidates must pass the NPORS Theory Test and the Practical Test. 

NPORS - Telescopic Handler Refresher

Candidates must have a current Telescopic handler certificate and be able to provide proof of this prior to course commencement. 

The intention of the Telehandler Forklift Course is to provide candidates with the basic awareness and practical skills in order to operate a Telehandler Forklift to the NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) standard.

RTITB - B1-Rider Counterbalance Forklift Truck including 5 tonne

This course is for operators with little or no previous experience using a counterbalance forklift truck - the RTITB course complies with the standards set in accordance with the HSE Code of Practice L117. This course enables successful operators to use any counterbalance forklift up to a 5000 kg lifting capacity (with authorisation) anywhere in the UK.

The RTITB Forklift Training Course Counterbalance Conversion Operator course is designed for those with an existing qualification in one category, but requires either a different type of machine or a different licence within the same machine type e.g. B1 Counterbalance licence (up to 5 tonnes) being converted to include the B2 Counterbalance licence (5-15 tonnes). Our open courses provide training on a counterbalance forklift up to a 5000 kg lifting capacity.

RTITB - Fork Lift Truck Operator Course - Experienced (Counterbalance)
This course provides accredited training for operators who are experienced in driving trucks, but who have not had any previous training.
A 3 day course on counterbalance forklifts. This course is for experienced operators who have not received any previous training.
How is it assessed? Delegates will complete written and practical assessments
RTITB - Fork Lift Truck Operator Course - Novice (Counterbalance)
This course provides an initial training course for novice operators of counterbalance forklift trucks.
A 5 day course on counterbalance forklifts. This course is for novice operators who do not have any prior experience or training.
How is it assessed? Delegates will complete written and practical assessments.
RTITB - Fork Lift Truck Operator Course - Refresher (Counterbalance)
The RTITB Forklift Training Course Counterbalance Refresher Operator course is designed for those with prior documented experience of forklift truck operation, who wish to refresh their qualification in the safe and correct use of counterbalance forklift up to a 5000 kg lifting capacity.
A 1 day refresher course for counterbalance forklift truck operators whose previous training certificate has expired. A copy of the delegate's previous training certificate will be required to confirm eligibility for the course.
How is it assessed? Delegates will complete written and practical assessments.
Unaccredited - Genie SLA Material Lift Training Course
Anyone operating the Genie material lift range of lifting equipment on site.
The Genie range of material lifts are widely used on site, but can easily be involved in accidents if not used by trained operators. This course provides training for the SLA 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 models.
